Operators can add signals for a specific product with a specific quantity - but this possibly means a lot of barcodes needing to be created.
Pre-requisites:
- Scanner connected to a PC
- Barcodes
How to get barcodes for adding signals with quantities and possible changeovers?
Barcode format
The format of the changeover for the barcodes is: ****5#Quantity#ProductID#
- The “5” indicates the operation done with the barcode.
- “Quantity” is the signal quantity (how many units of product does this signal have)
- “ProductId” is a unique ID that every product has in Evocon.
- Please note that this is not the same as product code.
- Product ID can be found
- in the product URL
- but it is easier to get these from the product export/import file:
For example in case for creating a circle with 3 as quantity for a product with ID 99, it is 5#3#99#
Generating the barcodes
To generate the barcodes, Evocon’s barcode creator (here) or a free online generator can be used - for example **this one.**
In case you need assistance in using the generator, please turn to Evocon Support at [email protected].
How does it work?
When entering product changeovers with a barcode scanner you should keep in mind the following:
- The barcode reader needs to be connected to the computer where you use Evocon.
- The relevant station’s Shift View needs to be open as the active browser window/tab.
- Scanning a barcode takes into account the station you are currently on in Shift View (applying the appropriate product route settings).
- The product(s) need to be defined in Settings.
- If you scan the barcode:
- if the product is the same as running batch has, it adds a signal with the specified quantity.
- if the product is different from the running batch, it also adds a changeover on the signal.
